2 Timothy 2: 1-7

2 You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, ² and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. ³ Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. ⁴ No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. ⁵ An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. ⁶ It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops. ⁷ Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.

Self Control - maker of a position, state or condition
Stead Fastness - the capacity to hold out or bear up in the face of difficulty
Godliness - Show uncommon reverence or respect; awesome respect accorded to God

If these are yours and increasing

• you will be effective
• you will be fruitful

If these are lacking

• your are nearsighted
• forgotten you are cleansed

1. Be diligent - speed up the process
2. Confirm your calling and election
3. You will never fall

Advancement of the Gospel

Philippians 1:12
It is not about us once we accept Christ

• Jesus died for our sins
• God loves us
• We are his children 
• But the Gospel must be advanced

It is about those who have not accepted

• We must act as massagers 
• We must act as examples 

Everything that has happened is to advance the gospel

• I would like to be with every christian I know in service is that best for the gospel?
